Thank you for your interest in the post of Headteacher of St. Aidan's Church of England High School.
St. Aidan's is a thriving 11-18 comprehensive school located in the elegant town of Harrogate and this post is an exciting opportunity for a creative and dynamic leader to take forward one of the country's leading Church of England secondary schools. The school offers an exceptionally wide range of opportunities to its students and its success is rooted in a relentless focus on the interests of each and every child. Full information about the school and the area can be found on this website and via links on the following pages.
The governors wish to appoint a new Headteacher with the vision, skills and commitment to guide the school through future challenges whilst retaining its distinctive Christian ethos. All of Harrogate's five secondary schools will soon become academies; St. Aidan's expects to convert on 1 July 2011. We remain fully committed to working with our local partners to provide excellent education for all children in the area.
The post offers great opportunities and rewards to the successful candidate. St. Aidan's enjoys the benefits of a hugely supportive school community comprising a superb staff, a fully committed governing body, engaged parents, enthusiastic students and strong local churches along with many other friends of the school. This strong base offers great potential for innovation and in a time of rapid change in education nationally, prospects for the future look very promising.
